STR8SWAP docs — how peer-to-peer NFT swaps work
This page explains str8swap (STR8SWAP at str8swap.xyz) for users and search engines. It is static HTML so Google can index it easily.
Open the app1. Roles
- Maker — creates the swap and escrows offered assets (NFTs, tokens, or ETH).
- Taker — accepts an open or directed swap by providing requested assets.
2. Create a swap (on-chain)
- Go to Trade Room and connect a wallet on Ethereum mainnet.
- Optionally load a counterparty address, or choose Open to anyone.
- Fill You send and You receive.
- Approve NFTs/tokens as prompted, then confirm Create swap.
- Share the deal link from the marketplace or activity page.
3. Accept a swap
- Open Marketplace or a shared link.
- Review collection addresses and token IDs carefully.
- Approve any assets you must deliver, then Accept swap.
- Settlement is atomic: both sides fill or neither does.
4. Cancel & emergency recover
While a swap is Open, the maker (or contract owner) can call
cancelSwap. Escrowed assets return to the maker.
If the website is down, assets are still in the smart contract — use recover.html or Etherscan Write Contract on the official escrow.

5. Facilitated marketplace deals
Some marketplace listings are operator-facilitated: matched via X @str8swapxyz. Those deals use a verified operator wallet as human escrow and are labeled separately from automated on-chain open offers. Always verify the deposit address on the live marketplace page before sending assets.
6. Fees
A maker fee (default 0.5%, hard-capped on-chain) applies only to fungible assets (ERC-20 / ETH) the maker receives. ERC-721 NFTs are not fee-split.
7. Safety
- Verify contract addresses on Etherscan.
- Confirm NFT collection and token IDs before accepting.
- Official support: @str8swapxyz only.
- Never send assets to random wallets claiming to be STR8SWAP staff.
